My wife, daughter, and I set off on a road trip this November, and we headed north. Our destinations were set for Lake Placid, New York followed by Quebec City, Canada. Our first stop was the Mirror Lake Inn, and boy what a stop that was. We arrived just after dark on a cold Thursday night, so we didn't get to take in the beautiful views until our first morning, but they were worth the wait!
Check in was a breeze, and we were off to see our room, a fourth floor corner room in the "Mountain View Building". The room was stunning, with a beautiful bathroom, including a massive tub enough to fit at least 2 people comfortably, then on to our bedroom and the separate living room which is where we found the magical view offered at Mirror Lake Inn. The room was decorated with a very classic feel, with dark wood fixtures, lots of leather which gave it a very warm, comfortable, classy feel.

The view from our room was worth the drive in itself. Looking out across Mirror Lake you could clearly see the Adirondack's in all their glory. Its snow capped peaks were so majestic and created a view that didn't even seem real, like something out of a fairy tale. It was truly magical.
Onto the rest of the resort.... It seemed as if the Mirror Lake Inn had something for all of us. The food (which I'll get into detail about later) was unbelievable, the pool was a warm escape from the winter snow and cold, and the lake provided views that you wanted to take in forever. One thing to keep in mind at the Mirror Lake Inn is there is a no cellphone in public areas rule. As content creators who always have their phone in hand I thought this might be rough, but it was the most refreshing part of our journey. Unplugging and just enjoying ourselves and the beautiful area we were in was the perfect way to de-stress from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Our first evening we dined at The View, Lake Placid's only AAA four diamond "exceptional" rated restaurant. This was a true treat, we enjoyed some of the most delicious dishes we've ever had, from scallops, foie gras, to the braised lamb cheeks, everything was cooked to perfection. The photos and videos barely do justice to just how amazing the food was! It was great to see our little one, Ellie enjoying some 5 star cuisine and behaving like "an adult". (Our trick during our stay was telling her the resorts' staff thought she was an adult ! It was a fun little game )
Our second evening we dined at Taste Bistro, the resorts more casual, pub-style restaurant. The food again was fantastic, we enjoyed the Truffle Mac n' Cheese, Potato Gnocchi, and the Kilcoyne Farms Burger. The best part of this meal was the live music, which was an unexpected treat! A gentlemen was set up by the bar with a guitar singing some classics, from James Taylor, Van Morrison and so many other great tunes, it really made the night.

Mirror Lake Inn is truly somewhere not to be missed. We visited at a beautiful time during late November which allowed us to experience both fall weather, and wake up to a beautiful winter scene of snow covered grounds. I really would love to come back in the summer and experience Mirror Lake Inn's warm weather activities such as swimming and kayaking in Mirror Lake. The resort is so cozy and comfortable and I wish we had never had to leave! It reminded me how beautiful this country we live in is. The scenery at Mirror Lake Inn is truly breathtaking and is something you need to see to believe. I want to thank the Mirror Lake Inn for hosting us, and hope we can return again soon!
